Some shortcuts might not have the "Pin to Start" option due to their nature.
- Create a shortcut on your desktop as before:
In the "Type the location of the item" field, enter the desired command (e.g., ms-settings:powersleep for Power & Sleep settings). - Add the shortcut to the Start menu manually:
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
Type shell:programs and press Enter to open the Start menu Programs folder.
Copy the shortcut from your desktop and paste it into the Programs folder.
Locate the shortcut in the Start menu and pin it:
Open the Start menu and scroll to find your shortcut in the list of programs.
Right-click on the shortcut and select Pin to Start. - If this method still doesn't work, you can use a workaround by creating a batch file that runs the desired command. Here's how:
Create a new text file on your desktop.
Paste the following content into the text file (replace the command with the desired one):
start ms-settings:powersleep - Save the file with a .bat extension (e.g., PowerSettings.bat).
**Right-click on the .bat file and select Create shortcut.
Move the shortcut to the Start menu Programs folder as described earlier.
**Right-click on the shortcut in the Start menu and select Pin to Start.
This should allow you to pin the shortcut to the Start menu as a tile. Let me know if you run into any issues or need further assistance!
